Firstly, thanks to Mike for the info on the CD versions.

But back to the vinyl! Even more amusing, hey, look, I have 1st gen 
pressings in a 2nd gen cover.  Must be worth gazillions!  Of course, me 
and Gordon could swap covers, to reunite them with their rightful 
versions.  kiddin'.  Although the following thought did occur to me - 
How do we know which covers really belong with which pressings?  My copy 
was bought from new in 88/89 and no jiggerypokery has occurred.
