HW Space Ritual

Hello Ian

Thank you for your kind words.

As I wrote to Colin I only have a good audience recording here.
But I am sure that I can hear every instrument that was played.
And I heard how wrong they were played.

I know that just listening to an audio tape is not comparable to
a LIVE event.
Watching all these wonderful musicians must be awesome

But it is a psychological point.

Listenling to a show over the headphones reveals all the musical problems
which were hidden by the optical effects and the "feeling" of an event

I am not against this SR2009 project

But it has to be better that HB2008.

And I must again admit that in my eyes (and ears) Nik Turner is the main
problem

I am sorry to be so negative

Cheers
Bernhard

Bernhard,

Honestly, yours is amongst the *most* respected opinions on this forum...
but what you've said here is so wrong my friend.

Herne Bay was just wonderful, well appreciated by the audience (including
people I'd brought along that had never had any HW related exposure before),
Nik's playing was terrific.

Yes, Jerry was indeed 'Man of the Match' as I said on my blog about the
event, but how anyone can dismiss the playing of Adrian Shaw, Alan Davey,
Steve Swindells and the rest is beyond my understanding... and Ron's
delivery on High Rise was just *immense*.

Sorry, Bernhard, I guess you've heard a bootleg... they only tell a bit of
the story and they never replace being there and the reaction on the night
was of real pleasure from the audience...

Roll on the Roundhouse...
Ian

Hi there

This show is a good idea but if they play as bad as they did in Herne Bay
than it will be a waste of money.

It was an absolutely crap performance.

The only highlight was Jerry Richards

I only see one chace for this event to be successfull.
Playing without Nik Turner

He is the one who ruins every gig.
I am sorry to say it but it is the truth

Bernhard

I've got no real insight, but I think the band we are talking about is
basically the band as performed at Herne Bay for the Calvert tribute,
playing the music of the Space Ritual... seems like an excellent prospect to
me and I have absolutely no problem putting money into Nik's pocket (and the
rest of the guys involved)... in fact, given the performance at Herne Bay...
personally I'd be delighted to put money in their pocket! :)

Hej

How I would love to come and see this but seeing as it will hardly have any
of the original band:

No lemmy, no calvert, no brock, no stacia, most likely not Simon King that
means it will be:

Nik, maybe Del Dettmar, Dik Mik.. probably only Nik... I don't actually see
the point except to put some cash into Niks pocket and those surrounding the
event.....

And I will not likely travel from Denmark to see it.. Let's see what the
details bring...before making final judgement.
