A new 2008 Remaster for Hawkwind's Bring Me The Head Of Yuri Gagarin...

HAWKWIND: BRING ME THE HEAD OF YURI GAGARIN (2008 Remaster - Stock #
1049930) Normally CD £12.99 -

Ltd Offer CD £10.99 Featuring the classic line up that appeared on the
'Space Ritual' tour: Lemmy, Dave Brock, Robert Calvert, Dik Mik & Nik
Turner, this album featured the voice or Yuri Gagarin for the first ever
broadcast from space! So here are Hawkwind caught in a rare 'live'
performance from their halcyon days, rough and unpolished; punk before
punk; grunge before grunge - true cosmic space explorers on a journey to
the edge of time. So, take your protein pills, put your helmet on, it's

same classic line up that featured on the 'Space Ritual' tour. Here we
have unique and alternate versions of 'Orgone Accumulator', 'Sonic
Attack', 'Master Of The Universe' and 'Welcome To The Future'. Also
extremely rare live renditions of 'Urban Guerilla' and 'Silver Machine'
complete with Bob Calvert vocals.

The recordings lack, shall we say, certain finesse, but this makes it
all the more exciting, it draws you in: making you listen deeper into
the void. This new version of the old album has undergone some
"cosm-et-ic surgery" - the label say: "We have sonically spliced:
atomically re-arranged; accelerated and discharged the particles that
make up this historic recording, to try and polish the undeniable gem
that lives within. It is presented here with all the modern gadgetry
and wizardry that we can muster to recreate it in the cleanest version
ever released: Listen for yourself, we think we have succeeded."

Undoubtedly the focus of this rare 'live' recording is the two poetry
readings by the legendary Robert Calvert: 'Gaga' and 'In The Egg' -
unavailable elsewhere in the known Universe; these are rare gems indeed.
It is a huge shame that there
