Hi Paul,
I always thought the bass would be very difficult to play, well.  So many
bands use it as a minimalist sort of affect, rather than allowing bass
players to show their style.  He was certainly  influenced by Lemmy, but
Alan has developed a signature sound of his own.

Both of those people have obviously never heard Allen Woody play.
