OFF: Monster Magnet interview

 	Dear all,
 		  apropos of a blog post of Scott Heller's, I just learnt 
a number of things, firstly that there's a new Monster Magnet album out, 
secondly that Dave Wyndorf has started doing what I think of as the 
'Steven Wilson thing' of releasing odd stuff on very small-run vinyl 
issues, and thirdly that there's a recent interview with him here where he 
sounds in very good spirits:

 	Carl will especially like this bit I think:

"The one thing I'm sure of is when this thing is fired up and those sounds 
come out, the sounds I liked when I was 12, the sounds that I liked when I 
was 29, the sounds I liked when I was 39, the stuff Monster Magnet does 
always makes me happy. It never makes me unhappy. I'm never like, 'Ah, I 
never want to hear a wah through an echo again!' I love a wah through an 
echo! It's fucking cool. And believe me, like I said, if I heard a million 
bands doing this stuff all the time, I wouldn't be doing it. But I don't."

but even after that there's stuff worth reading.

 	I also learn that they're playing London tonight, inevitably, but 
I already got a date for tonight so I hope Dave will let me off. Yours
