ISPnet maintenance Thu-Fri, Nov 14-15, 2013 - 7 Teleport Drive, Staten Island

ISPnet will be performing maintenance on some of our equipment at
the Telehouse data center at 7 Teleport Drive, Staten Island.

The planned maintenance window is from 10 PM Thursday to 2 AM
Friday, local time.

This work should affect only those ISPnet customers who have
equipment colocated at that site.

ISPnet is in the process of upgrading equipment and, during the
window, certain routers and switches will be moved (or their
functions will be moved) to new cabinets.

The two major items being moved are:
	gw1.nycrnybb.ispnet.net
   and	switch1.nycrnybb.ispnet.net

Both boxes will be off the net for a large portion of the
scheduled window.

ISPnet operates redundant sets of equipment at this data center
and, to a large extent, this will make this work transparent to
most customers.

For example, the functions of the gw1 router should be handled,
automatically by gw2, located in a different cabinet not involved
in the night's work.

Most ISPnet customers at the site are dual-connected, with cross-
connects to two ISPnet switches (switch1 and switch2) located in
different cabinets.  Only switch1 is involved in the scheduled
work.

Dual-connected customers should see no service interruptions.
However, during the window, they will be operating in an
unprotected mode.

Similary there will be no visible effect for single-connected
customers with cross-connects to switch2.

Customers with a single cross-connect to switch1 will receive a
separate email with additional information specific to their
services.
