ISPnet network event: routing instability

A problem occured today, at approximately 11:45 AM, on an ISPnet
switch at 85 Tenth.

This impacted service to ISPnet customers at that site and also
at other sites to various extent. In some case, there was
complete loss of service.

We have just started our investigation into the problem and do
not have complete information at this time.

However, we are aware of at least two issues.

The first is the one that triggered the problem. The other is
the amount of time it took for service to recover to normal
levels.

While we don't (yet) understand the initial problem completely,
we have identified the trigger and will be able to avoid the same
situation again.

The problem with "fail-over" to redundant equipment is understood
and will be fixed in our next regularly scheduled maintenance
window. It should not involve a service interruption, but we'll
schedule it off-hours as a precaution.

Please accept our apologies to all our customers for the
inconvenience caused by today's events.
