Paul (that's Dr. Mather to you, bunky) has amply proved his worth to the
list over the past five years.  Everyone's had quite enough time to
form their own opinions on him.  What have *you* done for us, except
post condescendingly about a long-time Internet custom?

You claim that smileys are unnecessary, and then sneer at Paul
because he took your words seriously.  Try and think real hard about
this one.  Maybe you'll see the irony.  I'm not holding my breath,
though.

This nearly made me spit Snapple all over my monitor.

The frequent offenses, right now, are the flood of off-topic
postings.  If you want Paul to go, then by God every last doofus
posting about his bowels and his lunch and Eric's Windoze preferences
had bloody well better go too.

You can't have it both ways.  Either it's a strictly-moderated list
or it isn't.  If it is, it applies to you (plural; not ROBO in
particular) as well as those you disagree with.  This is everyone's
playpen, or no one's.
