_My Life Behind the Rose_ (in collaboration with Brian Eno). It's a
little more ambient than the BOC that you're used to, but I think
you'll agree that they've grown musically. *Mucho* use of native
rythms and chants, etc, mixed with some almost Phillip Glass style
dischord. I think they're breaking new ground musically - it
will be interesting to see whether the next album will continue
to develop along the same lines, or if they'll fall back into their
old comfortable "heavy metal" mode.

Al, his diplomatic career no longer "on hold" because of his commitment
to the band, is currently the acting U.S. emabassador to New Guinnea.
Joe was last seen in New Orleans, at the head of one of the more
popular "Cajun Jazz" bands.

> 3. When did Buck Dharma shave off his moustache?

Well, he didn't, really. This isn't common knowledge, but he was in a
bad automobile accident a couple of years ago (his hands weren't
injured, thank god). Unfortunately, there was a delay in getting him
to the hospital, and surgeons couldn't save the 'stache. He owns a
very convincing prosthetic one, but rumours are that he's embarrassed
to wear it.

> 4. Does the BOC drummer still play with a Godzilla mask?

No, Al retained possession of the mask. He now wears it in his
embassadorial role, while attending the yearly "festival of the
masks".

> 5. Are there any BOC compilations available on CD?

There was supposed to be one coming out on K-Tel, entitled _Scrunches,
Crunches, and Thumps_, but rumour has it that this one is held up in
production, as no one can find the master tapes of the dance mix of
"Debbie Denise". Also, Steve Scank (sp?) is supposedly trying to
coordinate it with the release of the _My Life Behind the Rose_
Interactive CD-ROM, which is delaying both projects.

> 6. Do they still use lasers?

Not since the infamous incident (in '76, I think?) at the Red Rocks
Amphitheatre. You know, where they burned the ear off of a fan in the
3rd row? You know, if we lived in a less litigious country, things
like this wouldn't be such a problem...

Hope this helps.
