Shari

Welcome!

First up, you've heard of Lemmy, OK? His old band - and many people
(including me) think Hawkwind were at their best when he was a member
(1972-1975).

Secondly - Hawkwind have made roughly one album a year since 1970 so there's
LOTS of product. Plus, they've been extensively pirated, and there's a lot of
poor-quality compilations knocking around. And even the official product
varies from the utterly brilliant to the unlistenably crap. Trouble is,
no-one agrees which is which! :)

The most Moorcock-oriented albums are Lemmy's last HW album _Warrior on the
Edge of Time_ [1975], _Chronicle of the Black Sword_ [1985], and _Live
Chronicles_ [1986] (which is the live album from the Black Sword tour in
1985). Although I personally don't like the Black Sword stuff, and I'd
recommend above all else the ultimate mega-classic _Space Ritual_ [1972]
(which also features two Moorcock poems).

FWIW, last time we ran a popularity poll, _Warrior..._ came top, with _Space
Ritual_ and 1991's _Palace Springs_ following closely behind.

- Andy
