Ugly covers!

Good album covers (or perhaps just different ... as lonh as it catches the
eye)  are IMO very important. I spent many a day (as I approached the all
important 24 yr cut off age for musical taste configuration) browsing through
import record stores here in Oz. Many artists which I subsequently got into
were as a result of the cover art.

A classic example is the artwork used on Eloy albums - I saw "Ocean" and had
to have it regardless of the content. I now have all (bar 1) Eloy albums ...

Then again I've bought some utter crap using the same techniques ;^)

Obvioulsy I usually listened to the albums as well before spending the cash,
but the point is that with very poor support for non-charting music in
Australia in the late 70's and 80's, I doubt I'd enjoy my record collection
anywhere near as much as I do!
