Saw a fun filled 2fer last saturday at seneca falls' Canal Days, in the
form of Static Cling and the Brain Surgeons. Intersting venue, too --
stage was under an overpass.

Cling's set of covers and original ripped along nicely, although pweople
bailed when the fireworks went off ahead of schedule.

The Brain Surgeons took to the stage around 11 o'clock and played a healthy
mix of tBS and BOC, in non-sequential order:
State of Emergency, Krakatoa, Il Duce (a lost Roter/BOC tune),
Frankenstein, Astronomy, "acoustic" the red and the black, Name your
Monster, Vera Gemini, Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll, Time Will Take
Care of You, Godzilla, with the help of Ace Bouchard and the Ace-ettes
(really 2 boys standing right next to the stage through the set, and
thoroughly bewildered by God... zilla), and for a special treat, the
surgeons were joined by static cling to stomp through Dominance and
Submission and One more Cup of Coffee (with al on mandocaster).

A rough set due to microphones not workign and working at will esp. on
Deborah's nubmers and Cities on Flame (whcih for the first time had an
impromptu drum solo due to mic problems). "Il Duce" features the first
number where David H. took the main vocals! and it's a fun lil' stomper
that even my sister enjoyed.

I dug it and my family, who came along to check out the canaldays, didnt
entirely mind the rock and roll (both mom and dad said they enjoyed
Albert's drumming... it's a start!)
