In New York in 1995 (that cool venue that had been a church --
The Sanctuary I think it was called (and may still be)), some of
us list folk were right at the front. There was one guy (not one
of us) who kept trying to get a mosh pit going. He kept
forcefully bumping into people; we all kept ignoring him,
grumbling (I know I was!); finally he gave up.

(To be honest, I was so clued out I didn't even know then about
moshing. I just assumed he was a drunk, belligerant asshole
trying to pick a fight. Then again, in terms of how I prefer
to enjoy concerts, maybe I wasn't so far off :-)

When I came back around from the dark side, there in front of me would
be the landing area where the crew was, and the Earth, all in the view
of my window. I couldn't help but think that there in front of me was
all of humanity, except me.
