Hiya All,

Thought you might be interested in a few things that Mr Brock had to say when
I phoned him about the proposed private gig.

I've filled Bernhard in in detail (so I'll leave it to him to continue the
discussion), but basically Dave is for the idea but doesn't think it's
workable as it stands. He is very keen however to do something if it can be
tied in to some sort of convention ... something that Trev Hughes has
apparently been looking into (Carl - R U still in touch with Trev?)

I'll leave the rest to Bernhard, except to say that 1000 "Hawkwind Passports"
are now ready at "Mission Control", and they plan to do an "invite only" gig
in Autumn for passport holders .... I guess it will be worth keeping an eye
on their webpage from now ...

Here's some other news I just posted to the OzHawks list .....

Hi,

Before you too excited, I'm not reporting that the Oz Tour is back on
track ....

I just got off the phone to Mr Brock. We talked briefly about the
Australian Tour and the various problems making it happen (primarily the
cost of airfares to Australia). At this stage it looks like we will start
concentrating our efforts again later in the year, so as to try to get a
tour happening in early 1999 to fit in with the bands plans for a major
tour concept they are working on for the end of the millenium .... can't
say much about it now, but think of "Death Generators" ....

The main reason for this post is some *actual* news. The new Hawkwind
studio album is finished (with the exception of some final mixing), so we
can expect to see it in the not too distant (horizon?) future .... I asked
Dave what to expect and he laughed and said "new songs", so I guess we
will all have to be surprised at the same time :)

The US Space Rock comp CD has been mixed and sent to Strange Trips ... I
imagine that it will be releaseed before the "Strange Daze" festival on
August 14th (see attached flyer)

Speaking of Hawkwind gigs, anyone who will be in the UK in early August
should visit the Custom Bike Show in Kent on the 7th & 8th ... Hawkwind
will be playing there.

Dave has also almost completed his new solo album (one track to go), so I
expect that will be out before too long as well.

That's all from me

Yours in Space

Paul
